Strengthening the Velia experience as we climb

We’re pausing all shipments.

Our first Pioneers are now using the ring, and some of the feedback we’ve received from them has confirmed the connectivity and app stability issues we already knew about, while bringing a few additional limitations into focus. Based on what we’ve learned, we’ve decided not to just patch things – we’re rebuilding key parts of the experience from the ground up. If we shipped more rings today, many of you could run into the same problems. After everything, sending you a ring that depends on an app that doesn’t work properly isn’t acceptable.

We made a mistake by moving ahead with shipments before we had enough real-world data. We thought we were ready. We weren’t. That’s on us.

Here’s what we’re doing next:
We’ve started a full redesign of the app, not just patches
We’re growing the team so we can move faster and give these issues the focus they need

We’ve given you timelines before and missed them. We’re not doing that again. Instead, we’ll share our progress here on The Velia Climb; what we tried, what worked, and what didn’t.

Some weeks the update may be as simple as “we fixed one bug and hit a wall with another.”  But we’d rather show you the climb as it is than pretend it’s smooth.
When we’re ready to ship again, backers will be first. We won’t take new orders until we’re certain that we can delivered to the people who supported us early.

The climb is a bit slower than any of us hoped, but we’re committed to reaching the top.
